About Indonesia eVisa
Indonesia eVisa (specifically the e-VOA) is an electronic visa implemented by the Indonesian government in October 2020 to simplify the visa application process and reduce long lines at entry points. It allows foreign citizens to make short-term visits for tourism, business, and transit purposes.
Citizens of 97 countries can apply online before travel. To apply, complete the Indonesian eVisa application form, upload the required documents, and cover the fees. After processing, the approved Indonesia eVisa will be delivered to the applicant's inbox as a PDF file.
Important validity and stay information:
- Validity Period: You have exactly 90 days from the issue date to enter Indonesia.
- Visa Type: The e-VOA is a Single-entry visa — it allows for one entry only.
- Length of Stay: You may stay for 30 days per entry, extendable once for an additional 30 days.
- Maximum Total Stay: 60 days (initial 30 days + 30 days with an extension).
- Extension Rule: Extending your visa requires a personal visit to a local immigration office (effective from June 2025).
Additional arrival requirements:
- Bali Tourist Levy: A mandatory fee of IDR 150,000 (~USD 10) applies to all international arrivals flying directly into Bali since February 2024.
- All Indonesia Arrival Card: You must complete a mandatory digital customs form at allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id (this replaced paper arrival cards in October 2025).
Indonesia eVisa types
According to the purpose of travel, an Indonesia eVisa is available in three types:
- Indonesia e-VOA – Electronic Visa on Arrival: for tourism, business meetings, visiting family or friends or transit;
- tourism Indonesian visa: for vacationing, recreation, sightseeing, as well as visiting family members and friends;
- business Indonesian visa: for business handling, purchasing goods, and attending conventions and exhibitions as an attendee;
- transit Indonesian visa: to pass through Indonesia to a third destination.
Online application for the Indonesia visa
In order to apply for an Indonesia e-VOA online and effortlessly, take your device connected to the internet and follow these straightforward steps:
- Fill out the Indonesian eVisa application form and upload the required documents.
- Pay the fees — cover the processing fees (including the IDR 500,000 government fee) using a Mastercard, Visa, or JCB card.
- Check your inbox — once approved, your electronic visa will arrive in your email as a PDF document.

Indonesia eVisa validity period
The Indonesia e-VOA is valid for 90 days from the issue date — this is the window within which you must enter Indonesia. It is a single-entry visa, allowing one entry only.
Once you arrive, you may stay for 30 days. You can extend this once for an additional 30 days, giving a maximum total stay of 60 days.
Since June 2025, extending your e-VOA requires a personal visit to a local Indonesian immigration office. Online-only extensions are no longer available.
Please note that it is not legal to stay in Indonesia beyond the permitted period.

Indonesia eVisa required documents
To complete your application, you must provide clear, color copies (scans or smartphone photos) of the following:
- A valid passport: It must remain valid for at least 6 months from your intended arrival date in Indonesia, with at least one blank page for a visa stamp.
- A recent passport-style photo: Neutral facial expression, white or light background, taken within the last 6 months.
The copies may be uploaded as scans or photos taken by a smartphone's camera or webcam. The images must be in color, and all the data should be clearly visible.
