Step 0 — Am I Eligible for the Indonesia e-VOA?
Before checking documents, confirm you meet ALL of the following:
- ✅ My nationality is on the eVOA-eligible list (87 countries)
- ✅ My passport is valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival in Indonesia
- ✅ My passport has at least one blank page for a visa stamp
- ✅ I am traveling for tourism, business meetings, government visits, or transit only
❌ Do not meet the criteria? You need an embassy visa → Find the nearest Indonesian Embassy — imigrasi.go.id
Applying for an Indonesia e-VOA is a straightforward online process. You simply submit the form, attach the necessary documents, and pay the fee. To complete the application, you need a working device (smartphone, laptop, tablet, or PC) with a stable internet connection, a valid email address, and a way to pay online.
Indonesia eVisa Required Documents
Indonesia requires less paperwork than many other countries. Currently, you only need to upload digital copies of two documents:
Passport
- Issued by a country eligible for an Indonesian online visa
- Valid for a minimum of 6 months from your intended arrival date
- Contains at least one blank page for a visa stamp
- Digital copy must clearly show all four corners
- Must be in full color with all data clearly visible
Face Photograph
- Full head visible (top of hair to bottom of chin)
- Front view, full color
- Taken within the last 6 months
- Neutral expression, eyes open
- No shadows on face or background
- Plain white or light-colored background
You can create digital copies by scanning a physical document or taking a high-quality photo using a smartphone or web camera.
Document Checklist — Save Before Applying
- Ordinary passport — valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned entry date, with at least 1 blank page
- Passport-style photo — white or light background, neutral expression, eyes open, full face, taken within the last 6 months. JPG or PNG, max 200 KB
- Valid email address — your approved e-VOA will be sent here as a PDF attachment
- Credit or debit card (Mastercard, Visa, or JCB only) — required to pay the application fee. The card does not need to be in your name
- Return or onward ticket confirmation (for border control)
- Proof of accommodation — hotel booking or signed invitation letter (for border control)
- Proof of sufficient funds — bank statement or credit card (for border control)
What Happens If My Application Is Rejected?
Common rejection reasons include:
- Passport photo does not meet official standards (shadows, colored background, non-neutral expression)
- Typos in passport number or name — data must match your passport exactly, character for character
- Blurry, cropped, or low-quality document scans
- Passport validity is less than 6 months from the planned arrival date
- Incorrect personal information entered in the form
If your application gets rejected:
- You can reapply after correcting the issue, but you must submit a brand new application
- You cannot edit applications after submission
- Alternatively, apply for a visa at the nearest Indonesian embassy or consulate
